Dynamic Shortcodes 1.8.0: Ready for Elementor V4

31 March 2026

Elementor V4 introduces Atomic Widgets, a new architecture for building pages. Dynamic Shortcodes 1.8.0 is ready for it. A native Paragraph widget, full dynamic tag compatibility across all V4 contexts, and a new Text Editor widget for classic Elementor users.

The Highlights

  1. Paragraph widget built specifically for Elementor V4 Atomic Widgets.
  2. Text Editor widget for classic Elementor, same idea in the visual editor.
  3. Dynamic tags now render correctly across all V4 Atomic contexts.

Paragraph Widget: Shortcodes, Where You Type Your Content

V4 rewrote the rendering pipeline around Atomic Widgets, a stricter and more performant model that also changed how third party dynamic content plugs in. The new Paragraph widget is built for that pipeline from day one. Write your shortcodes directly in the content, expressions like {post:title}, {acf:subtitle}, or an inline {if:} branch, and they render on the frontend with no extra steps.

No workarounds through HTML widgets, no disappearing values, no fighting the editor.

Text Editor Widget: The Classic Flow, Same Idea

For sites still on classic Elementor, 1.8.0 adds a Text Editor widget with the same philosophy: shortcodes directly in the visual editor. Familiar TinyMCE experience, reliable evaluation of any Dynamic Shortcode including loops, conditionals, and Power Shortcodes.

Crucially for agencies maintaining mixed project portfolios, both widgets can be managed independently in the plugin settings, so you enable only what the project actually needs.

Dynamic Tags, Working Across V4

Beyond the new widgets, 1.8.0 also restores full dynamic tag compatibility inside V4 Atomic contexts. Bind any control (text, link, image) to a dynamic expression and it resolves cleanly, just like on classic Elementor.

Update from your Dashboard

Head to Plugins and update Dynamic Shortcodes to 1.8.0 to get the new widgets and full Elementor V4 compatibility.
